Recaro Aircraft Seating has announced a series of organisational changes at its Fort Worth, Texas, US and Schwaebisch Hall, Germany sites.

From 1 October, René Dankwerth (pictured), currently serving as executive vice-president of research and development, will succeed Sunitha Vegerla as general manager of Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, LLC.

Vegerla assumes the new role in the executive team as director of quality & process management. Heiko Fricke, who has previously worked for Daimler and Airbus, will take over René Dankwerth’s former role as executive vice-president of research and development for Recaro Aircraft Seating. He joined the company on 1 August, 2018.

Vegerla initially led the program management team before becoming general manager in 2014, championing a strategy of continuous global growth.

While at Recaro Aircraft Seating’s headquarters in Germany, Dankwerth reduced failure cost and quality findings by 50% within two years, significantly improved supply chain quality in deliveries, and introduced Total Quality Management (TQM) methods. He later became a member of the executive board for research & development, where she was instrumental in the development and the ramp-up of the CL3710 economy class long range product as well as for the re-entry into the business class long range market of the CL6710 product.
