Alexander is editor of Inflight. He oversees the entire media portfolio which includes a bi-monthly magazine, online news service and active social media presence. Alongside other members of the editorial team, Alex travels to all corners of the globe to report live from major industry events. Alex also serves on the editorial board for the Inflight Pavilion, Workshop and Awards event series. With over 15 years’ experience as a journalist, he is a regular moderator and keynote speaker at IFEC-related events. He holds an MA Hons in English and History from Aberdeen University. Adding to the sporting rivalry in the office, Alex supports Crystal Palace FC.
Glenn wrote his first aviation magazine article when he was 16 and has been immersed in aviation magazines ever since. He brings more than 20 years aviation publishing experience to the team having worked mainly in military aviation publishing. He developed the concept and was the launch editor for what became the world’s leading model magazine, before returning to full-scale aviation as the brand editor of the most respected modern military aviation publication. He was able to travel to airbases across the globe and report on combat operations such as Unified Protector over Libya in 2011. Seeking to develop his knowledge within the commercial aviation and B2B magazine sector, he joined HMG Aerospace in February 2019 as the editor of LARA. A passion for commercial turboprops means that he’s finally able to dive deep into their operations and future development with regional airlines around the globe.
Editor, Regional Gateway / Bespoke Publishing
After graduating from the University of Sheffield, Kimberley joined HMG Aerospace in summer 2017 as editorial assistant across the three media portfolios. She’s particularly interested in how technology can be used to improve customer experience and reduce the environmental impact of the industry. To cap a successful first year with the company, Kimberley was shortlisted as a finalist for ‘Young Journalist of the Year’ at the 2018 Aerospace Media Dinner. Out of the office she can be found baking, painting or just curled up with a book- as far away from a football field as she can get.
Sales Manager LARA & Inflight
Toby is one of the longest-serving members of the HMG Aerospace team. He joined the company shortly after its formation and led the relaunch of Inflight magazine. Since then, he has been a vital part of the organisation’s impressive growth over the past 7 years. Toby’s primary focus remains on the Inflight portfolio and event sales, but his sales management spans the breadth of the business. With a decade of experience in aviation media sales, his extensive knowledge of the industry is a valuable asset to the clients he works with. Toby’s hobbies include travel, sports and spending time with his young family.
Sales Manager Regional Gateway
Janine joined HMG Aerospace in May 2019 and is very excited about her new role as sales manager for Regional Gateway, a brand that focuses exclusively on the global regional and business airports sector. Janine has worked in the defence and aviation sector since leaving University. As a daughter of a Fleet Air Arm (Navy) pilot, her father was delighted when her first job was with Jane’s, the military and aerospace publishers. Working in research, sales, communications as well as Publisher roles at Jane’s, she has travelled the world and met amazing people in her work. Janine enjoys tennis (met her husband on court!), wildlife gardening and time with her two children and the ducks.
Marketing and Communications Manager
Laura joined HMG Aerospace in 2018 and is responsible for the commercial brand development of all media and events portfolios. Laura oversees all marketing activities across print, digital and social media and often travels to exhibit at major industry events. She is also the point of contact for all media partnerships. Prior to joining the company, Laura worked for over 14 years in marketing, PR and events within the wellbeing sector. Away from work, Laura is a fitness enthusiast and can often be found walking in Swinley Forest or attending military fitness bootcamp.
Digital and Marketing Executive
Isabella joined the team in January 2018 as Digital and Marketing Executive she is responsible for digital content production including weekly e-newsletters, regular website updates and populating the company’s various social media accounts, as well as assisting with wider marketing activities across all brands and events. Isabella has previous experience in publishing having worked for Conde Nast in the editorial business department, and has a communications and media degree from Loughborough University. Away from work Isabella can often be found travelling, shopping or eating out… or a combination of the three.
Circulation and Subscriptions
Lou is the friendly face and voice responsible for managing all print and digital magazine subscriptions. She processes all subscription applications and is the point of contact for any queries on this matter. Lou’s background lies in finance. As a petrol head fascinated by all things planes, trains and automobiles, Lou has found herself in an ideal industry. She particularly enjoys the office in the lead-up to the Farnborough Air Show, when we are treated to a perfect view of the aerial action.
Paul is our in-house designer responsible for the design and creation of all publications, including the bi-monthly Inflight and LARA magazines. Paul was instrumental in the recent rebrand of the LARA media portfolio. He is the point of contact for any artwork enquiries. Paul joined HMG Aerospace in August 2015 after many years working in London for a German investment bank. His previous experience also includes design roles at BMW and Haymarket Media Group. As a keen tennis player and qualified coach, Paul enjoys spending time on the court or pursuing his other major hobby – wakeboarding.
Steve is our Production Editor. He has more than 35 years’ experience editing consumer and business publications, market-leading specialist titles, customer magazines and trade journals. A stickler for editorial accuracy and accessibility, Steve was deputy editor of Heathrow Traveller magazine, worked on the City Desk of The Observer and assisted the Performance Review Institute in the creation of marketing materials and digital communications for its NADCAP standard for conformity assessment of ‘special processes’ within the aerospace industry. Steve is a keen fly-fisherman, avid historian and life-long supporter of Queen’s Park Rangers.
Aged 2, Noah is the youngest member of the team. Friendly and approachable, he’s a perfect fit for the company culture. Noah enjoys attending company meetings to ensure colleagues are not ‘barking up the wrong tree’. In his spare time, he enjoys long walks, spending time with family and updating his bone collection.
