SMBC Aviation Capital has delivered the first of a trio of Boeing 737-800s to India’s Jet Airways as part of a three-aircraft deal.
The company said the aircraft (serial number MSN 37743) was delivered to the Mumbai-based carrier, with the remaining two (Serial numbers MSN 37745 and MSN 37746) scheduled for delivery at the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018 respectively.
Last month SMBC confirmed it will purchase three new Boeing 737-800s, bringing its total owned, managed and committed portfolio for 737-800s to 198. Two of those three will be placed on lease with Japanese airline ANA. All three will be powered with CFM engines.
