Semmco has won a contract with JetBlue to supply access platforms and ground support equipment to the airline’s line stations across the US.

The contract will be delivered over the next 12 months and represents Semmco’s first major order since opening its US office and manufacturing facility in January 2019.

Stuart McOnie, managing director at Semmco, called the contract “another proud milestone for us and a testament to our US team, who are successfully delivering the project and further developing our global customer base.”

Semmco said its complete range of equipment and capabilities for the Airbus A320 family were recognised in the competitive contract process.

In June, Semmco delivered eight access platforms to its first line station in Palm Beach, Florida, forming part of the total order of 151 units that Semmco will be providing to 11 line stations in states across America, including California, Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.

On the new American office and manufacturing facility, McOnie commented that due to the volume of requests from North American companies “it made sense to expand the business and open a new facility in the region” adding that the US facility will help to “meet growing demand and grow our customer relationships.”

The new US facility provides local support and servicing to its North American clients, including Air Canada, Delta, American Airlines and now JetBlue.
