Just in time for the opening of its Jewel Changi terminal, Singapore Changi Airport has been declared the ‘World’s Best Airport’ for the seventh consecutive year at the 2019 SkyTrax World Airport Awards.
The awards took place on Wednesday 27 March during Passenger Terminal Expo 2019, which is this year being held at London’s ExCel.
There was also cause for celebration for smaller airports around the world as nine hubs were declared winners in the ‘Best Regional Airport’ category, including: King Shaka International Airport for Africa; Chubu Centrair International Airport for China; Gold Coast Airport for Australia; Haikou Meilan International Airport for China; Cologne Bonn Airport for Europe; Rajiv Gandhi International in Hyderabad for India/ Central Asia; Denver International Airport for North America; Koltsovo International Airport in Yekateringburg for Russia and CIS; and Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito for South America.
