Based at London Biggin Hill, Oriens Aviation – the UK’s Pilatus authorised service centre and sales distributor – has been going from strength to strength over the last 12 months.

The company launched Oriens Maintenance just one year ago, after it acquired the Avalon Aero facility at Biggin Hill. Business has been steadily booming ever since and Oriens will be handling 20 PC-12s from next year, in addition to other business turboprops and Cessna Citation types.

It has also revealed that it will be extending its expertise at its London Biggin Hill facility to start offering EASA Pilatus PC-12 SET class rating pilot training from January 2019 in partnership with Oysterair.

“We are delighted to be working with Oriens Aviation to bring Pilatus PC-12 training to London Biggin Hill,” said Oysterair managing director, Jonathan Shooter. “We see this as a marriage of experience and expertise.”

Meanwhile, Edwin Brenninkmeyer, CEO, Oriens Aviation added: “We will be configuring our hangar facility accordingly to create a dedicated classroom… Demand is high, and we are looking forward to delivering bespoke training based on pilots’ needs.”

Oysterair, which has been specialising in SET pilot training for four years, is already active at Lydd and Gloucester Airports with its PC-12 courses. Biggin Hill will be its third base.

Brenninkmeyer concluded: “With the growing number of PC-12s visiting and based at Biggin Hill, our new base is well placed to meet the growing market,”.
