Monday 18 November saw Munich Airport once again open its annual Christmas and Winter Market. Located in the Munich Airport Centre Forum, a covered outdoor space, the market offers more than 40 stands and a 625 m2 ice skating rink. A popular fixture on the airpor’s calendar this is the 21st time the airport has hosted its Christmas Market.

Open from 11am to 9pm daily airport visitors, whether they’re flying or not, can pick up handicrafts, jewellery, toys and traditional treats, such as Dampfnudeln and Flammkuchen (local delicacies). Passengers and airport visitors can also warm up over a glass of mulled wine and enjoy a cosy Christmas shopping experience.

Adding to the festive fun, every Thursday, from 6pm until closing, the airport is hosting an ice disco with a DJ. Live musical entertainment will also be provided from Tuesday to Sundays and on 6 December St. Nicholas himself will make an appearance.

Not only will the Christmas Market create additional revenue for the airport, which leases the space for stall holders, but it will also attract passengers to the airport and help create awareness of Munich’s routes and flight offers.
