Designs have been unveiled for a new private terminal at Manchester Airport in the UK. PremiAir, , will offer passengers a “private jet experience” while flying on commercial airlines with its own dedicated terminal situated away from existing facilities. Construction and design of the new terminal will be overseen by American firm, Jacobs.

Passengers will be able to purchase the PremiAir experience from as little as £50, irrespective of class of travel or the destination they are flying to. The range of services available will include a personalised welcome, speedy baggage processing, a lounge with complimentary food and drink and a dedicated security channel. They will then be transferred directly to their aircraft in a private car.

Returning passengers using the service will also benefit from a car transfer direct from their plane and the use of a dedicated passport control service. They will also be able to wait in the PremiAir lounge while their luggage is returned.

“By introducing PremiAir, we’re offering something unique for all of our passengers, and creating a completely new way to travel,” said Andrew Harrison, CEO, airpot Services, MAG.

While other airports offer lounge facilities to passengers and some on a pay as you go basis, not other major airport in the UK offers an accessible private terminal option for passengers on a ‘pay as you use’ basis.

Harrison added that the launch of PremiAir marks an exciting new project for MAG. “We plan to assess opportunities to introduce it at other airport sites in the future,” he added.

Construction work is now underway with the new terminal slated to open in mid-2019.

Manchester Airport is currently in the midst of a £1bn transformation project, which the airport’s CEO, Andrew Cowan says will “give the North the international gateway it deserves, while connecting it to the best leisure and business destinations around the world.

“PremiAir will add another dimension to that, giving all of our customers the opportunity to tailor the airport experience to their own personal preferences, adding touches of luxury at affordable prices.”
