Central Europe’s largest pilot training centre, Bartolini Air, is expanding its operations and now offers private air travel and jet management services from Lodz Airport.

The Bartolini Air fleet includes Tecnam Piston Twin aircraft operating from short grass airstrips, for short journeys in Poland, as well as corporate jets, serving flights to thousands of airports in Europe. While the company is entering the charter market with just one Cessna Citation Jet, it has ambitious plans to expand its fleet.

Commenting on how the demand for private aircraft management in Poland is on the rise, Jakub Benke, president of the board for the newly created charter and jet management operation told Regional Gateway:

“Lodz has been home to Bartolini Air flight school for 12 years now and it has proven to be a great airport – well equipped (ILS, VOR, control tower), reasonably priced and very supportive of initiatives. All of these strengths are even more important for a business carrier which wants to open a small FBO, build its own hangars and develop maintenance services, while keeping the costs under control.”

There are currently about 30 private jets in Poland, with two to three new aircraft added each year. Bartolini Air will target the owners of private jets and turboprops in Poland and Russia to make use of its comprehensive aircraft management services, which include hangaring and technical maintenance, as well as assistance in importing and registering, recruiting crew and meeting EASA technical and operational requirements.
