Laudamotion opens base at Vienna Airport

Austria’s low-fare operator, Laudamotion, has officially opened its base at Vienna Airport, with four Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft to be permanently stationed at the airport.

The Austrian carrier will offer flight connections to Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Islands, Chania in Crete and Pisa in Italy. Laudamotion’s Niki Luada and Andreas Gruber, were joined by Julian Jäger, joint CEO and CO of Vienna Airport at the official opening of the base on Friday 1 June.

Laudamotion represents the start of a new low-cost carrier with a base and a variety of flight connections in Vienna. In addition to growth at the airprot hub, the new airline also comprises a great offering for passengers departing from Vienna. Effective immediately, fantastic destinations can be reached with Laudamotion for people going on holiday in the summer.

The low-fare carrier will offer daily flights to/ from Palma de Mallorca with additional flights operated on Thursdays and Saturdays, while Chania and Pisa will be served three times each week. Flights are also expected to be launched to Brindisi, Ibiza, Kalamata, Malaga, Paphos and Santorini over the course of the summer.

Lauda himself stated: “We are pleased that we are finally able to launch flight operations from our home base in Vienna. Laudamotion has a first-class platform for more than 60 Laudamotion routes form Austria, Germany and Switzerland at its disposal thanks to its access to ryanair.com.”
