JetBlue Airways is due to increase its route network from Hollywood Burbank Airport in California with daily nonstop flights to Boston Logan International Airport on the US’s East Coast.

The airline has been operating at the airport since 2005 and is the only airline to offer a cross-country service from Burbank. The new Burbank-Boston link is due to start on 5 September 2018, with JetBlue also adding a second daily nonstop flight to John F. Kennnedy Airport (JFK) in New York. The latter service will be scheduled with a daytime departure.

“We’ve continued to build our coast-to-coast services between New York and Boston and California,” said Robin Hayes, president and CEO, JetBlue, during a press conference to announce the new routes at Hollywood Burbank.

He added that: “As the opportunity arose to add a second daily flight to New York from here, just in case you don’t want to go on the red-eye, and then to start a service from here to Boston just speaks to the success of our brand and also the support that we’ve had from the community with our services.”

Meanwhile, Frank Miller, Hollywood Burbank’s executive director said: “This new service provides our passengers with more direct routes to popular East Coast destination as well as East Coast passengers with additional nonstop service to Burbank, California – the media capital of the world.”
