Göteborg Landvetter welcomes new link with Barcelona

Ryanair is continuing its expansion at Sweden’s Göteborg Landvetter Airport with a new direct route to the Spanish city of Barcelona. As of 2 April 2019, the low-fare carrier will offer the new route three days a week.

The link will be served three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and is the third direct route between the two cities. It’s also Ryanair’s third direct Spanish route from the Swedish airport. It already flies to Alicante, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca.

Commenting on the new link, Charlotte Ljunggren, Göteborg Landvetter’s airport director said:

We are really pleased to be able to be able to offer our passengers a new direct route to Barcelona, since Spain is our most popular destination from Göteborg Landvetter Airport. A strong economic environment in western Sweden allows a further expansion of Ryanair, which is now launching its third direct route in a week from Göteborg Landvetter.

The airline announced new routes to Prague and Manchester from Gothenburg last week.

Passengers travelling from western Sweden will be able to take advantage of the increased connectivity with the buzzing Spanish metropolis with its lively pulse and idyllic stretches of Mediterranean coastline. The last few decades have seen Barcelona become the fifth most popular destination in Spain from Gothenburg and passenger traffic to the city from the Swedish hub has doubled in the last five years.
