American Airlines has introduced a nonstop service from Gainesville Regional Airport to Dallas/ Fort Worth. The inaugural flight arrived in Gainesville on Sunday 3 March with 37 passengers onboard and was greeted by a water cannon salute.
The flights to Dallas/ Fort Worth, American Airlines’ largest hub, are great news for Gainesville and its passengers. Dallas Fort Worth is the fourth international hub (along with Atlanta (via Delta Airlines), Charlotte and Miami (via American Amerlines) now accessible to passengers travelling from the Florida hub. The new route is not only a gateway to the West; it opens up 92 destinations to passengers that weren’t accessible via the existing American Airlines hubs of Charlotte (CLT) and Miami (MIA).
