Operators flying to Stuart Jet Center at Witham Field in Stuart, Florida, can now benefit from the convenience of US Customs on the airport field. The 3,210 sq. foot intermodal clearance facility is the first of its kind in Florida and means that international visitors arriving in Martin County by air and sea can be processed at the airport, while visitors from Stuart will no longer have to travel to Fort Pierce or West Palm Beach for customs clearance.

The customs facility is all part of the airport’s efforts to increase and improve amenities and services to better support and attract a diverse group of operators, explains Dan Capen, president of Stuart Jet Center. “Adding a customs facility on the airport field is a major step to accommodating more needs, particularly for international operators looking for reliable, quality FBO services in South Florida. The addition of customs will be great for the airport, the community and those who visit us,” he said.

Other initiatives recently undertaken by Stuart Jet Center include the opening of two new hangars, each measuring 25,000 sq. feet and capable of accommodating aircraft up to a G-650 and Global Express. The project included an additional 11,000 sq. feet of adjoining, class-A hangar-accessible office and shop space for tenant convenience and lease.

To celebrate its new customs facility’s opening the Avfuel-branded FBO is also offering customers 10x (20) Avtrip points per gallon until the end of April when clearing customs.
