Cork named Ireland’s most punctual airport

The gateway to the south of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way, Cork Airport has been declared Ireland’s most punctual airport. Global aviation analysts OAG revealed the airport topped its punctuality league for international airports in Ireland in 2018, with an on-time performance (OTP) of 80.2%

“As Cork Airport continues to grow, it is important that we maintain the key aspects of what our passengers have always loved about the airport – ease of access, award-winning customer service, minimal wait times, and of course our punctuality,” said Cork Airport’s managing director, Niall MacCarthy. “Topping the punctuality league of Irish airports is a testament to the extensive work the team at Cork Airport, along with our airline partners, put in to provide hassle-free and seamless travel for passengers flying out of the south of Ireland.”

In addition to its latest accolade, the airport is flying high on a successful 2018, having served 2.4 million passengers and experiencing growth of 4%. The airport is now entering its fourth consecutive year of growth, with passengers numbers forecast to rise by 7% this year with 2.6 million passengers expected to travel through Cork Airport in 2019.
