Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) has delivered a Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 to Hawaii’s Island Air on lease.
It is the first of two aircraft to be delivered as part of a two-plane lease deal signed earlier this year, said regional lessor NAC. The aircraft, serial number 4339, will work for the airline serving Hawaii’s islands.
Island Air flies each week between Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii using 78-seat Q400s and 64-seat ATR-72s. Founded in 1980 as Princeville Airways, it was renamed Island Air in 1992.
NAC’s current fleet stands at more than 350 owned and 37 managed aircraft including ATR 42, ATR 72, Bombardier Dash 8, CRJ900, CRJ1000, CS300, E170, E175, E190 and E195s, and has 55 more aircraft on firm order.
