WOW Air to connect Edinburgh and North America

From 13 July 2016, Edinburgh International Airport is to become WOW air’s 29th destination as well as the first departure point in Scotland for flights to Iceland and North America. The seasonal service between Edinburgh and WOW Air’s hub in Reykjavik will take place twice a week (on Wednesdays and Sundays) between July and October, leaving the former at 07:50 to arrive at the latter at 11:10. The return service will depart Reykjavik at 12:20 to reach Edinburgh at 13:50.WOW Air will operate the Edinburgh to Reykjavik flight on an Airbus A320, with single-class A321 and A330-300 aircraft operating the routes between Iceland and North America. The carrier offers a standard seat pitch of 30 inches with the option to increase this to 35 inches on the North American legs for a small fee. Onward travelling passengers will have a short stopover before continuing on to one of the airline’s North American destinations including Boston, Washington D.C., Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles and San Francisco. “We’re very pleased to announce Edinburgh as our third UK departure point given the success we’ve seen with advance bookings on the recently announced Bristol route and of course our original route from London,” remarked Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air. “We know that Scottish travellers are an intrepid sort, keen to explore unique and mountainous landscapes so we hope to open up Iceland to many more Scots with our service. With our ultra-low-cost £125 fares to North America this summer, the choice for Scottish holidaymakers just widened.”
