From 28 March 2016, Wizz Air will operate a twice-weekly direct scheduled service on a Monday and Friday between Bristol Airport and Sofia, Bulgaria, bringing the total number of capital cities served by Bristol to 17.
Sofia is one of the oldest capital cities in Europe. Positioned at the foot of Vitosha, a popular ski mountain, it is an ideal location for a winter skiing holiday, but with its rich cultural history it also offers a great summer vacation option.
Tamara Mshvenieradze, Wizz Air’s corporate communications manager, commented, “This is our second route from Bristol and with fares starting from GBP 24.49 we hope to carry many passengers on our new Sofia route.”
Peter Downes, head of aviation development at Bristol Airport, added, “We are delighted that Wizz Air has added this new scheduled route to our network With a unique blend of east-meets-west culture, ancient and modern architecture, as well as renowned winter sports facilities, Sofia has something for everyone and is sure to be popular with passengers.”
