Wizz Air has unveiled a refreshed brand and livery to celebrate the 11th anniversary since the airline’s first flight from Katowice, Poland on 19 May 2004.
In its 11 years of operations, the airline has carried 90 million passengers and acquired a fleet 59 aircraft which serves more than 380 routes in 38 countries.
The airline’s new objective is to improve the passenger experience. Initiatives already implemented in conjunction with the new branding include the recently announced seat allocation across all networks, as well as the introduction of new fare types (Basic and Plus).
Throughout 2015, Wizz Air also hopes to undergo website upgrades to provide a lowest-fare finder function, launch a Wizz Air mobile site, make Wizz Tours package holidays available in more countries and introduce new uniforms incorporating the refreshed brand colours.
New deliveries of A320 and A321 aircraft will be in the new livery, with the carrier planning to showcase a new cabin interior on board its A321 aircraft from November.
Wizz Air’s CEO, József Váradi, explained, “Over the course of the last decade, Wizz Air has had significant success in revolutionising an entire industry, and we have exceeded our ambition to make reliable and affordable air travel available to everyone in Central and Eastern Europe as we extended operations all across Europe and beyond. The launch of our refreshed brand is another one of our many measures to constantly improve passengers’ travel experience. We are very excited to launch our new livery on both the A320 and our new A321. We remain focused on developing our pan-European network of routes and look forward to welcoming returning and new customers on board.”
