BOC Aviation has announced it has placed one new Airbus A321-200 and one new A320-200 with Wizz Air from its own orderbook.
The deal is the first that the lessor has made with Wizz Air. “BOC Aviation is pleased to support Wizz Air’s continued capacity expansion with the placement of these aircraft as it capitalises on the European low-cost and leisure travel market,” commented Robert Martin, managing director & chief executive officer of BOC Aviation. “The placement also aligns with our strategy of further growing a globally diversified customer portfolio.”
“I am delighted with the confidence that BOC Aviation has in our current business and future growth plan as we continue to secure our future expansion by adding new Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft to our fleet,” added József Váradi, chief executive officer of Wizz Air. “We will continue to serve people in almost 40 countries with our very low fares and the two new aircraft for which we have secured financing, will play an important role in this mission.”
