Wizz Air grows September traffic by 18% y-o-y

tWizz Air carried 2,137,569 passengers in September 2016, marking a 17.9% increase on the 1,812,795 passengers carried during the same period the previous year.ttA 17% in capacity year-over-year to 2,333,850 seats from 1,994,760 means the airline’s load factor has increased by 0.7 percentage points from 90.9% in September 2015 to 91.6% in September 2016.ttFor the rolling 12 months to September 2016, Wizz Air has recorded an 19.4% growth in passengers to 21,829,795 from 18,286,705 for the rolling 12 months to September 2015.ttThe capacity increase across the same respective periods rose by 18.3% to 24,631,560 from 20,829,600, resulting in a year-over-year load factor growth of 0.8 percentage points to 88.6% from 87.8%.ttDuring September 2016, Wizz Air opened its 25th operating base in Kutaisi, Georgia and commenced 10 new routes. Seven of those were to and from Georgia, two were to Hungary and one was to Lithuania.
