From 22 July 2016, Wizz Air will operate six weekly flights (every day except Sunday) between two of its Romanian bases, Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca, while from 19 September 2016 the carrier will fly four times weekly between Bucharest and Budapest.
The Bucharest–Budapest service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Gyorgy Abran, Wizz Air’s chief commercial officer, commented, “We’re excited to be adding new, low-fare services in Romania where our traffic numbers grew 16% in 2015. We’ve been working on these routes for some time as part of our continued commitment to Romania, where more and more people continue to respond to our low fares and excellent onboard service.”
In October 2015, Wizz Air announced four new routes from Cluj-Napoca to Alicante, Berlin Schoenefeld, Billund and Doncaster Sheffield. The carrier now offers service on 109 routes from eight Romanian airports to 16 countries.
