Wizz Air has announced plans to commence twice-weekly flights from Niš to both Munich Memmingen and Eindhoven on Mondays and Fridays from 1 August 2016, as well as a new twice-weekly service from Milan Bergamo to Suceava on Wednesdays and Sundays from 3 August 2016.
Wizz Air started operations from Niš, its second Serbian airport, in June 2015 with flights to Malmo and Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. A third route from Niš to Dortmund will begin on 20 August 2016.
Tamara Vallois, Wizz Air’s head of communications, commented, “We are delighted to bring more good news to our Serbian customers this summer. August is going to be a month with many reasons for celebration. Our three new routes to Germany and the Netherlands expand Serbia’s largest low-fare network, giving our Serbian customers a wide choice of both leisure and business destinations to enjoy this summer as well as stimulating inbound travel to Serbia. As the only airline operating from both Belgrade and Niš, we look forward to welcoming ever more passengers on board our Serbian flights, to experience Wizz’s lowest fares and great onboard service delivered by our Serbian colleagues.”
In April, Wizz announced a four-times weekly Suceava–London Luton service that will begin on 19 August 2016. Today’s announcement means an even earlier start of Wizz operations from its ninth Romanian airport.
“Only two months ago we announced the very first route from our ninth Romanian airport, Suceava, and today we are delighted to add a second direct connection," Vallois continued. "With the new flights between Suceava and Milan Bergamo, Wizz Air enhances its position of offering the greatest connectivity between Romania and the rest of Europe, promoting economic development throughout the country.”
