From 1 November 2016, Wizz Air will begin operating thrice-weekly flights between Budapest and Sofia on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Gabor Vasarhelyi, Wizz Air’s corporate communications manager, remarked, “We are very excited to be offering this new route between Sofia and Budapest to serve customers looking for low-cost, direct access for business or leisure travel, or to visit families in the community. In both Hungary and Bulgaria, in fact across Europe, more and more people are looking to Wizz as their airline of choice due our very low fares, expanding route network and friendly, professional on board service.”
With the new route, Wizz Air now offers low fare flights from Budapest to 48 destinations in 23 countries and flights from Sofia to 29 destinations in 15 countries. Wizz Air is also expanding its base fleet in both cities to continue to serve growing passenger numbers. Sofia will get its sixth base aircraft in March, while the fleet in Budapest will grow to 10 aircraft by this summer.
