Eastern Airways will now provide UK travellers with connections to a variety of Norwegian destinations from Aberdeen and Newcastle, as part of a new codeshare agreement with Scandinavia’s largest regional airline, Widerøe.
“This exciting new partnership with renowned Norwegian carrier, Widerøe, not only offers a new destination from Aberdeen to Bergen on the Eastern Airways network, but also ensures UK regional passengers are better connected to Norway travelling via Aberdeen,” explained Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director. “These connections through our Aberdeen hub are extremely convenient, viable options for travellers, particularly those within the oil and gas industry, heading to Norway or the UK. With onward links in Norway, Widerøe has established a vast route network and we are delighted to be working with them.”
The codeshare partnership and ticketing agreement will enable Eastern Airways to offer UK connections on its services from Cardiff, Durham Tees Valley, East Midlands, Humberside, Leeds Bradford, Norwich, Southampton, Stornoway and Wick John O’Groats to Stavanger and Bergen via Aberdeen.
As well as Eastern Airways’ T3 code being added to the airline’s Bergen services, the code will continue to be placed on services between Aberdeen and Stavanger and Newcastle and Stavanger.
Eastern Airways recently received the European Regions Airline Association’s Airline of the Year Gold Award.
