Although WestJet flew 1.5 million passengers in November 2015, approximately flat in comparison to November 2014, the airline’s load factor for the month has decreased of 1.9 percentage points year over year from 80.5% to 78.6%. Capacity, measured in available seat miles, declined 0.3% from 2.056 billion in November 2014 to 2.049 billion in November 2015. Revenue passenger miles decreased 2.7% from 1.656 billion to 1.612 billion across the same respective period.“While loads across much of our network were generally in line with very strong prior year performance, softness in certain southern and Alberta markets resulted in a modest system load factor decline," explained WestJet’s president and CEO, Gregg Saretsky. “With our busy holiday season approaching, I want to thank our more than 11,000 WestJetters for their continued dedication to safely providing our guests with WestJet's award-winning brand of friendly caring service."
