WestJet has reported its May 2014 traffic results featuring a slight load factor increase to 79.0%.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 4.8% year-over-year to 1.584 billion from May 2013’s figure of 1.512 billion. Available seat miles (ASMs) grew by 4.1% to 2.005 billion from 1.926 billion over the same period.
The airline flew 1.6 million passengers in May, a year-over-year increase of 5.1% or more than 77,000 additional travellers.
“We are very pleased with our continued strong year over year traffic growth as a record number of guests in May chose to fly with WestJet," declared WestJet president and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
