tWestJet carried 2.1 million passengers during August 2016, an all-time monthly record marking a 5.3% growth – or 105,000 passenger increase – year-over-year.ttThe carrier’s load factor for August 2016 reached 86.5%, a 1.9 percentage point growth compared to the same month the previous year. WestJet’s available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 8.8% to 2,646,000,000 from 2,432,000,000, while revenue passenger miles (RPMs) rose by 11.3% to 2,289,000,000 from 2,057,000,000 across the same respective periods. tt“We are pleased with our fourth consecutive month of double-digit traffic growth as we welcomed the highest-ever monthly number of guests on board in our twenty-year history,” commented WestJet’s president and CEO, Gregg Saretsky. “My sincere thanks go out to our almost 12,000 WestJetters for their continuing commitment and passion through this very busy summer period.”ttWestJet’s figures for the year-to-date show a 1.7% increase in load factor year-over-year to 82.6%. The airline’s ASMs have grown by 7.7% to 19,682,000,000 for the year-to-date in 2016 from 18,279,000,000 during the year-to-date in 2015. Its RPMs grew by 10% to 16,265,000,000 from 14,788,000,000 across the same respective periods.
