WestJet passengers to get TSA Precheck option in USA

WestJet has announced more rapid security processing for its passengers by now being able to offer US TSA Precheck to eligible travellers, meaning trusted customers undergo a less-intrusive search when departing from US airports."We are pleased to offer TSA Precheck and make transborder travel easier for our guests," said Ed Baklor, WestJet senior vice-president, guest experience. "Part of a larger suite of amenities aimed at the business market, the introduction of this smart security experience will be appreciated by time-conscious business travellers and guests who are constantly on the go."When using one of the programme's dedicated security lanes, TSA Precheck members can leave their shoes, belt, or light jacket on while passing through the scanner. Laptops and liquids can remain in carry-on baggage.Travellers eligible for TSA Precheck include Canadian citizens who are members of NEXUS as well as US citizens and US permanent residents who are members of NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry, or TSA PreCheck. Initially, eligible WestJet passengers should collect a boarding pass from a WestJet passenger assistance counter; self-serve enhancements will become available in 2016.
