tWith an on-time performance (OTP) result of over 90% for 2015, FlightStats.com's seventh annual On-time Performance Service (OPS) Awards have crowned WestJet Encore the best North American carrier.
tt“To be the best in North America at arriving on time just a few short years after launching WestJet Encore is an extraordinary achievement,” remarked Ferio Pugliese, WestJet Encore’s president and WestJet’s EVP. “Over the last 12 months we have made a concerted effort to improve our on-time performance and this is a tribute to the hard work of our WestJetters who operate our airline safely to best meet the needs of our guests.”
ttAccording to FlightStats.com, “The FlightStats On-time Performance Service (OPS) Awards recognises airlines and airports around the world that deliver the highest percentage of flights to their arrival gates within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. To determine the finalists and winners, FlightStats examines flight status and arrival data aggregated from global sources including civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports and major airline reservation systems.”
ttWestJet Encore operates a fleet of 25 Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft. The airline serves 33 Canadian cities with 155 daily departures, and will launch new non-stop service between Toronto and Boston, its first US destination, in March 2016.t
