Following WestJet’s recent unbundling of economy fares, which saw the introduction of a first-bag fee of $25, the airline is now having a ‘first-bag’ seat sale.
Bob Cummings, executive VP of sales, marketing and guest experience for WestJet, explained, "We remain dedicated to being Canada's low-fare leader and this seat sale supports our commitment to providing a full range of fares and corresponding value from Econo through to our Flex and Plus fares.
"We said on Monday that we would lower Econo fares and offer even lower seat sale fares, and we're doing exactly that," Cummings added.
The sale, which will continue until 22 September, is valid on flights and holiday packages to select destinations in Canada, the US, Mexico and the Caribbean until 10 December 2014.
