Vueling has announced that it increased its March passenger traffic by 3.6% year on year.
The company carried 1,079,415 passengers and reached a load factor of 80.2%, 1.7 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
The traffic figures were, however, negatively impacted by the strike of Iberia handling and maintenance services, which forced Vueling to cancel 318 flights, equal to approximately 4% of the total scheduled flights.
Revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) totalled 1,042 million, compared with 901 million in March 2012, a 15.6% increase. Available seat kilometres (ASKs) were icnreased by just 13.2% to 1,299 million from 1,148 million last March. These figures led to the aforementioned load factor increased.
