Vueling has received the first Airbus A320 fitted with the airline’s new cabin configuration; it includes the Airbus Space-Flex module, allowing room for six extra seats whilst aiming to deliver enhanced comfort and more space to passengers.
Airbus’s Space-Flex module is positioned at the rear of the cabin which, along with new exit limits, increases the A320 seating capacity from 180 to 186 seats while retaining the latest generation 18-inch wide seats.
The module also features a lavatory with full access for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM). The reconfigurable PRM-friendly lavatory is facilitated via a simple conversion process consisting on converting two Space-Flex lavatories into one Space-Flex PRM in a similar manner as those delivered on an Airbus
The A320ceo in question, equipped with IAE engines and Sharklets, is part of the 62 A320 family aircraft order (30 A320ceos and 32 A320neos) placed by Vueling in August 2013.
