Vueling reports June and first half of 2010 traffic results

Vueling has announced traffic figures for June 2010 and for the first half of the year (1H10) during which it pushed its load factor slightly higher from 70.2% to 71.1%.

Remembering that the airline’s merger with clickair was completed on 9 July 2009, June 2010’s revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) were up 97.1% at 863,064,000 from last June’s 437,991,000. Available seat kilometres (ASKs), however, were up 101.3% to 1,212,775,000 from 602,369,000. These two results thus produced a 1.0 percentage point drop in load factor to 71.2% from June 2009’s 72.7%. Passengers carried in the month rose to 975,000 from 480,000, an increase of 103.2%.

In the first half of 2010, RPKs were up 91.5% at 4,500,854,000 from 2,350,222,000 in 1H09. ASKs were increased by 89.0% to 6,328,065,000 from 3,348,965,000 for the respective periods. The load factor therefore increased by 0.9 pp to 71,1% from 70,2%. Passengers carried in 1H10 totalled 5,054,000, a 103.8% increase from 1H10’s 2,480,000.
