Volaris has released its traffic results for August 2016, which include a year-over-year load factor increase of four percentage points to 86.6%.
The carrier grew its available seat miles (ASMs) by 10.3% to 1,526,000,000 in August 2016 against a 15.5% rise in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) to 1,322,000,000.
Volaris carried a total of 1,370,000 passengers during the month, a 16.6% increase in the 1,175,000 carried during August 2015.
During August 2016, the carrier launched one year-round international route between Austin and Guadalajara.
Figures for the year-to-date show Volaris has carried 9,885,000 passengers so far, which marks a 21.6% increase year-over-year.
The airline’s year-to-date load factor has risen by 4.1 percentage points to 86.7% in comparison to the 82.6% recorded in the same period during 2015. During these respective periods, Volaris’ ASMs have grown by 19.1% to 10,925,000,000 against a 24.8% growth in RPMs 9,467,000,000.
For both August 2016 and the year-to-date, the balance of growth has been relatively even across both domestic and international markets, although the international market seems to be slightly more dynamic.
