Flight Focus has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with VivaAerobus to install its enhanced Class III electronic flight bag (EFB) – the Flight Focus PLATFORM – on board the airline’s entire fleet.
Flight Focus PLATFORM will integrate fully with VivaAerobus’s flight operations, engineering, maintenance and finance departments’ business processes, and allow ‘always on’ connectivity between the carrier’s aircraft and ground stations through Iridium satellite communications, thus enhancing operational efficiency and supporting flight safety. VivaAerobus will also use the Flight Focus, designed to significantly reduce fuel costs.
Flight Focus’s vice-president global sales and business development, Stef Slavujevic, commented, “We are very pleased to be working with VivaAerobus, to implement the Flight Focus PLATFORM and add value to their operation. With the global reach and cost benefits of Iridium, the flight crew of VivaAerobus will have a real time messaging and alerting system that helps to support proactive decision-making processes and maintain on-time performance.”
“With this new partnership with Flight Focus, VivaAerobus will continue to improve its efficiency using leading edge technology that will allow us to save fuel and improve operational processes. That will be beneficial for our passengers because the low cost becomes low fares for our users,” remarked Daniel Barcenas, flight operations director for VivaAerobus.
