tVirgin America has commenced nonstop daily flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Kahului Airport (OGG).
Flights will depart LAX at 09:35 to land in OGG at 12.25 before the return leg takes off from OGG at 13:40 to reach LAX at 21:55. Virgin America will use a new Airbus A320 aircraft delivered this year on the route.
“Since we launched service to Hawaii last year, the response from our guests has been overwhelming and we're thrilled to add yet another route and give flyers the ability to travel from Los Angeles to Maui in style,” remarked John MacLeod, SVP sales and planning, Virgin America. “Our aircraft offer three custom-designed classes of service, signature mood-lighting, touch-screen personal entertainment and an award-winning on-demand food and cocktail menu on every flight – allowing Los Angeles travellers to begin their vacation the minute they step onboard.”
“Virgin America's nonstop Maui service and in-flight hospitality presentan enticing pairing for its customers in greater Los Angeles when making vacation plans,” stated George Szigeti, president and CEO of the Hawai'i Tourism Authority. “Maui, the Magic Isle, is an extremely popular destination choice for travellers from Southern California. Virgin America's daily Los Angeles–Maui flights offer a convenient new option that will meet customer demand and be a great boost in business for the island's tourism industry.”
The service follows the introduction of flights between Los Angeles and Honolulu last month.
