Virgin America has reported its preliminary traffic data for September.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) decreased by 8.4% to 751,254,000 from 819,881,000 last September. Available seat miles (ASMs) were cut by 7.3% to 984,012,000 from 1,061,044,000 in September 2012.
The load factor in September was 76.3%, a 0.9 percentage point decrease from the same month a year earlier. The number of onboard passengers decreased by 4.5% to a rounded figure of 493,00 from September 2012’s rounded number of 516,000.
Virgin America estimates that the September 2013 passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to have increased by approximately 11%, compared with the same month in 2012.
