Virgin Australia and Virgin America have begun selling tickets under their codeshare agreement.
Virgin Australia will codeshare on Virgin America services from Los Angeles to eight destinations including Portland, Washington, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia and Seattle.
Virgin Australia group executive of alliances, network and yield, Merren McArthur, commented, “We are delighted to offer Virgin Australia guests access to Virgin America services in the United States. We already codeshare on a range of other routes in the United States with our partner Delta Air Lines and this will allow us to offer a total of 25 codeshare destinations and over 300 interline destinations across North America,” McArthur noted.
Virgin America’s vice president of planning and sales Diana Walke Added, “This is the first-ever codeshare agreement for our young airline and we are excited to offer a more seamless experience to travellers from both sides of the Pacific, especially our most loyal guests – those who seek out the award-winning service for which Virgin airlines are known.
“With the Red touchscreen entertainment platform and three well-aligned classes of service – our product is well-matched to Virgin Australia”, Walke noted.
