Vietjet sees 66% growth in passengers in 2015

tThroughout 2015, Vietjet transported 9.3m passengers – a 66% increase year-over-year – as well as taking delivery of 11 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.ttAs of 31 December 2015, Vietjet was operating 40 routes (28 domestic and 12 international) with a fleet of 30 A320s and A321s. The airline’s load factor for 2015 averaged 88%.ttTo facilitate future growth, the carrier has signed numerous agreements to buy and lease more aircraft, which will enable it to hit a 2016 target of carrying 15 million passengers with an on-time performance ratio of 85%. Vietjet also aims to achieve a passenger satisfaction rate of 99% and a return-customer rate of 95% in 2016.ttThe airline reported a total growth rate of 205% in comparison with 2014 after garnering a total revenue of VND10.9 trillion (US$490.7m) in 2015, thus meeting the company’s target.tt2015 also saw Vietjet open a training centre, which has now certified nearly 7,429 staff, and receive an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate from the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) for outstanding operational standards.
