Vietjet is to introduce two new routes, between Taipei and Hanoi and between Kaohsiung and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).From 30 October 2016, the Taipei–Hanoi route will be operated on a daily basis, with the outbound leg departing at 19:00 and landing at 20:45. The return flight will take off from Hanoi at 14:15 and land in Taipei at 18:00 (all local times).The five-times-weekly Kaohsiung–HCMC route will be launched on December 12 2016 and will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flights will leave Kaohsiung at 08:15 to reach HCMC at 10:45 before the return flight takes off at 02:10 from HCMC and lands in Kaohsiung at 06:30 (all local times).From 30 October 2016, Vietjet will also increase the frequency of its existing Tainan–HCMC route to five return flights a week, which will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Tainan–HCMC leg will take off at 15:45 and land at 18:00, while the HCMC–Tainan leg will depart at 10:30 and arrive 14:45 (all local times).“Since our inaugural flight between Taipei and Ho Chi Minh City in December 2014, Vietjet has operated nearly 1,300 flights between Taiwan and Vietnam and carried more than 173,700 passengers,” commented Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, VP, Vietjet. “We recently opened the second route to Taiwan connecting Tainan with Ho Chi Minh City, emphasising our commitment to Taiwan’s ‘Go-South Policy’. With the new services to Taipei and Kaohsiung in the coming time, Vietjet is proud to be the airline that serves the most destinations in Taiwan, looking to ease the travel and interaction of the people, especially business persons and investors of Taiwan in Vietnam specifically and South East Asia generally.”Vietjet is expected to have four international routes between Taiwan and Vietnam by the end of this year.
