TT Electronics Integrated Manufacturing Services (TT Electronics-IMS) has confirmed a deal with the Shanghai Avionics Corporation (SAVIC) to provide manufacturing services in support of Level A airborne avionics systems, which will be used on the COMAC C919 aircraft family.
SAVIC is a major provider of avionics products to the Chinese aviation industry and owned by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). Based in Shanghai, SAVIC was selected to provide certain airborne avionics equipment for the C919 programme.
TT Electronics-IMS was chosen for its best in class system underpinned by Nadcap accreditation, and a history of supporting the C919 programme including previously awarded business from AVIAGE, a joint venture between General Electric and AVIC.
“We are proud to be working with SAVIC on Level A airborne avionics systems for the C919, especially as it is planned for test-flight in 2015,” remarked Byron Zhang, managing director of TT Electronics-IMS China. “Our prestigious Nadcap accreditations have continued to enable us to work on China’s most anticipated aircraft project during a time of exciting growth and innovation in this market.”
