TRU Simulation + Training Inc. (TRU) has announced that its Bombardier CRJ900 FFS X Full Flight Simulator has successfully been installed at China Express Airline’s training centre in Chongqing, People’s Republic of China.
The FFS – which features an electrical 60-inch motion system, TRU’s front-projected collimated visual display and Rockwell Collins’ EP8000 image generator – has received Level D qualifications from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
With the new FFS now installed, the airline will adopt TRU’s Train@Home model, increasing the availability of the airline’s pilots to fly. China Express Airlines was previously sending its pilots to a training facility in Madrid, Spain.
“We are delighted that China Express Airlines has placed their trust in TRU to provide this high-fidelity training solution, which will not only provide significant cost savings to this fast-growing regional airline, but also simplify their training process,” commented George Karam, VP and general manager of TRU’s air transport simulation division. “In parallel, we continue to build our customer support infrastructure in China as we aim to service our customers over the life of our simulators.”
