Tropic Air has announced that it has purchased its first Beech 1900D, which it is due to receive in December. The carrier which is based in Belize revealed in a statement that the turboprop would make its debut in 2020 flying routes from Belize City International to Cancun in Mexico, Roatan in Honduras and Flores Mundo Maya International in Guatemala.
“Adding new aircraft with new capabilities also means opportunities to look at new regional markets to add to our network, and we intend to do that. The 1900D brings cities such as Guatemala City and San Pedro Sula within a comfortable flying time for our passengers,” Steve Schulte CEO said. “This investment underscores our commitment to Belize, and to our confidence in tourism.”
