Tigerair Australia has announced that members of Virgin Australia’s Velocity frequent flyer programme can use their Velocity points as part or full payment for Tigerair base fares, optional extras and taxes across Tigerair Australia’s network.
To redeem Velocity Points on Tigerair services, members simply select their flights on the airline’s website, log in to their Velocity account on the payment page and select the number of points they would like to use as part or full payment of their total booking fee (a minimum of 3,100 points must be used).
In the second phase, from 13 April 2016 Velocity members will also be able to spend their Velocity Points on any flight changes and post-booking ancillary purchases they wish to make via the ‘Manage My Booking’ function on the Tigerair Australia website. Velocity members can also make a Tigerair booking using their Velocity Points via the Velocity Membership Contact Centre.
Tigerair Australia commercial director, Adam Rowe, declared the announcement another example of Tigerair Australia’s ongoing commitment to providing more value and choice for consumers than ever before. “We are very excited to be partnering with Velocity Frequent Flyer, and to offer this new opportunity for Velocity members to use their Velocity Points to travel on our network, “ he remarked. “Tigerair Australia now flies to 12 destinations, providing a great redemption opportunity for Velocity members.”
Velocity members are only able to redeem – not earn – points on Tigerair services. All Tigerair fares and products (excluding travel insurance) can be redeemed using Velocity Points.
