From 1 November 2016, Stéphane Daillencourt will officially step into the role of president and chief executive officer of AirAsia Berhad’s aircraft leasing unit, Asia Aviation Capital Ltd (AACL).Daillencourt has over 30 years of experience in buying, selling, financing and leasing aircraft, including at GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, where he’s been employed for the last 11 years.In his most recent role at GECAS as EVP financing operations (Singapore), Daillencourt led the team in charge of all purchase and leaseback transactions as well as aircraft sales to investors. Furthermore, in his capacity as chairman, Daillencourt was also responsible for the oversight of PK Airfinance aircraft and ship financing businesses.Prior to that working for GECAS, Daillencourt has had roles in structured finance with aircraft maker Avions de Transport Regional (ATR), CIT Group and Credit Lyonnais.Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia Group, commented, “We are thrilled to have Stéphane on board to lead AACL into its next stage of expansion as we explore more leasing opportunities.
