Spirit Airlines has chosen UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) to provide maintenance for the nozzles of its Airbus A320-family aircraft powered by IAE V2500 engines, with the work to be carried out at UTC Aerospace Systems' Alabama Service Center located in Foley, AL.
Under the three-year agreement, the Alabama Service Center will provide Spirit Airlines with assets to cover removal of nozzles during engine maintenance. The removed nozzles will be sent to the Alabama Service Center for service.
“We value the trust in UTC Aerospace Systems and our Alabama Service Center that Spirit Airlines has shown by reaching this agreement for nozzle maintenance,” commented Marc Duvall, president of UTC Aerospace Systems’ Aerostructures business unit. “With a ready pool of rotable nozzle assets and unmatched service, we are pleased that Spirit Airlines recognises the value that we can provide.”
