Spirit appoints two new executives

Spirit Airlines has announced that Matt Klein and Rocky Wiggins have joined the carrier as SVP and chief commercial officer, and SVP and chief information officer respectively.
Klein took up his position on 11 August 2016, while Wiggins’ new role will be effective from 26 September 2016.
Wiggins will drive Spirit’s IT strategy and IT operations. His previous experience includes serving as EVP and chief information officer of WestJet; EVP and chief information officer at Cambria/Sun Country Airlines; and SVP and chief information officer of AirTran Airways.
Klein will lead revenue and marketing strategy, managing Spirit’s network planning, pricing and revenue management and consumer marketing teams. He’s previously worked as chief commercial officer of lastminute.com and VP of global airline relations at Travelocity.
“At Spirit, we are very proud of our growth and success as an airline and as a team,” commented Spirit’s president and CEO, Bob Fornaro. “We are expanding our fleet, adding new routes, focusing on improving our operations and customer experience, all while delivering on our promise to deliver ultra-low fares. These two individuals will help drive that vision, bringing valuable insight and experience to help us achieve our goals and reach new heights as an airline.”
