SpiceJet has launched its new in-flight entertainment (IFE) system SpicEngage on-board all domestic and international flights.

The carrier said it is the first and only Indian low-cost airline to introduce complimentary in-flight entertainment, revealing the details of the new IFE system in a series of tweets by head of communications Tushar Srivastava.

Passengers can now use their own phones and tablets on-board SpiceJet flights to watch shows, play games and more.

Ajay Singh CMD for SpiceJet said: “I am excited to announce the launch of our new in-flight entertainment system SpicEngage, which will vastly improve the on-board experience of our flyers.”

This follows the announcement in spring 2017 that the airline signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Lufthansa Systems to equip its fleet with the latter’s BoardConnect Portable to allow SpiceJet passengers to shop, stream movies and shows and other content from platforms offered by the airline.
