Southwest Airlines has announced its traffic figures for February 2011 featuring a 3 percentage point increase in load factor.
The airline flew 5,636,641,000 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in February, a 13.0% increase from the 4,986,254,000 RPMs flown in February 2010. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 8.6% to 7,329,163,000 from the February 2010 level of 6,751,455,000.
The load factor for the month was 76.9%, compared with 73.9% for the same period last year. Revenue passengers carried totalled 6,327,864, up 7.1% from the 5,907,956 carried last February.
